This antique Scottish stoneware urn with matching plinth was purchased from a a garden antiques dealer at the Chicago Botanic Garden Antiques Show. We could not resist. The urn itself was made in two pieces. The original stoneware is a cream pink, over which layers of paint has been applied. The patina established by the aged paint is beautiful. The pedestal is decorated with a classic wreath shape. The repair to the rim of the urn is quite old.
