This early 20th century French faux bois bench was undoubtedly made by an individual artisan. Faux bois is an art form where the material is made to look like wood. Many examples both old and new are made from carved concrete or mortar. The faux bois is stylized and very simple. The bench is curved. The seat is very narrow in depth, making this bench better for viewing than sitting. Good condition.
