19th Century French Fairy Urn
Unusual and highly decorated 19th century French stoneware urn. The surface is covered in leaves and flowers, and a different winged cherub or fairy, in relief, on each face. The handles are elaborately scrolled and incised. The neck is covered in geometric carving. This piece is actually more an amphora, than an urn. The stoneware amphora sits on a limestone base.
